Bold, new logo unveiled by US Youth Soccer fastest growing State Association
Birmingham, Ala.— Alabama Soccer Association - - the non-profit organization that represents the best interests of more than 22,000 players, youth and adult from over 50 clubs/associations, has unveiled a new look to go along with a renewed purpose.
The design was ultimately chosen after numerous rounds of logo concepts were presented to consumers and professionals for feedback and suggestions. The elements of the logo, including the year of establishment, the state flag, ASA’s initials and the geographical silhouette of Alabama all contribute to a unified message headlined by “Alabama Soccer.” It should also be noted the star graphics provide an additional symbolic tie to the state with a nod to the famous song “Stars Fell on Alabama.”
“Our new logo better communicates what Alabama Soccer stands for today”, said ASA Executive Director Tom Condone. “The time was right for the change, especially as we continue to evolve as a state association and build on the positive momentum we’ve created."
ASA recently ranked number 1 out of 55 state associations in year-over-year growth of youth player registration numbers with a 43% increase, going from 11,939 to 17,082.
“It’s a powerful new logo,” said Russell Richey, ASA Vice President of Adults, and a local branding research professional that helped with the redesign project. “Early in the redesign planning, we talked about just updating the old logo, but after several rounds of feedback from our membership, and gratefully using some really creative input from local design professionals, I think the result is a symbolically rich logo, that’s still classic, simple and pleasing to the eye.”
The new visual identity will be phased in to digital and print branding elements over the coming months, beginning this week. The artwork is available online by clicking here.
