Meet ASA Technical Director Kevin Laux
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Kevin joins ASA from Birmingham United Soccer Association where he served in various capacities including Technical Director. Before coming to Birmingham, Kevin attended the University of Mobile where he graduated with a degree in Psychology. As a player with the Men’s soccer team he won an NAIA National Championship and was team captain his senior year. Two years after graduating he returned to his alma mater becoming Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. Working in all aspects of the program Kevin helped the team gain national prominence while completing a Masters of Sports Science at the United States Sports Academy.
After five years, Kevin moved to Birmingham to focus on player development in the youth game. During his time in Birmingham, Kevin obtained his USSF “A” License and began work as an Instructor with the ASA Coaching Education Staff. He also was the Head Coach of Alabama’s 03 Boys ODP team.
Having now spent over half of his life in Alabama, Kevin has developed relationships with soccer coaches all across the state and is looking forward to working with everyone to bring soccer in Alabama to new heights. "I could not be happier to begin serving our state as Technical Director. I'm looking forward to continuing the success my predecessor achieved and working to take the game to another level in our state and region."
