EPD Camps

2016 Elite Player DEVELOPMENT Winter Camp

Alabama Soccer Association

MISSIONThe Elite Player Development program is a precursor to the Olympic Development Program (ODP) designed to offer elite male and female youth soccer players aged 10-12 years old (born in 2004, 2005 & 2006) additional training to compliment the training they receive within their club.  The EPD program offers an opportunity for the Alabama Soccer Association staff to become familiar with and train some of Alabama’s upcoming talent.  The emphasis is on individual player development, with specific attention on technical growth.

WHAT: Our mission for this camp is to teach players various attacking techniques that they can utilize during self-training sessions where players practice on their own at home.  We will do this through a fun, nurturing environment and playing small sided activities/games that encourage players to solve soccer problems.  We challenge players to make decisions and solve problems while on the field.  We also hope to inspire players to add juggling to their daily self-training.close up

STAFF:  Camp staff will be overseen by Technical Director Zac Crawford and consist of a mixture of EPD and ODP staff members. We will have a ratio of 10 players per coach.

CURRICULUM: The staff is excited and ready to teach and help the players have fun in the Elite Player Development format with players divided into training groups and rotating to different developmentally appropriate activities, all sessions ending with small sided games.  Training topics include: sessions on Individual Attacking, GK/Finishing, Receiving & Passing, and a Small Sided Games.
