Emma Greenwood is the Zone 1 Director for the Alabama Soccer Association. Emma oversees the ASA Youth Academy for 9U-11U, the Elite Player Development Program, and Grassroots soccer which includes delivering Youth Modules to coaches, TOPS, and School Engagement Programs. She is also a staff coach for Alabama Elite.
She began her soccer career growing up in Sheffield, England. Playing for Sheffield United Academy Center of EmmaExcellence and then on to the Doncaster Belles Ladies. Emma was recruited to play collegiate soccer at the University of Montevallo where she was a four-year letter winner and a member of the Falcons Academic Honor Roll.
Emma began her career in coaching through involvement in youth programs throughout the Birmingham area, working with boys and girls from ages 7-16.
She was on staff at the University of Montevallo from 2015-2016, taking on all roles and responsibilities of an assistant coach. Emma then found her place as a youth coach at Homewood Soccer Club, coaching in the girls’ academy as well as working with her U-13 SRPL team.
Emma’s passion and commitment for coaching education is shown in her involvement in coaching courses and professional development, receiving both the Alabama Girls Recreational Coach of the Year as well as the Region 3 Girls Recreational Coach of the Year at the US Youth Soccer Workshop/NSCAA National Convention.
She has also invested much of her time with a variety of age groups through ASA’s Olympic Development Program (ODP), leading to her role as EPD Program Coordinator in the spring of 2017. Emma enjoys following the English Premier League and being an avid Sheffield Wednesday supporter.
Emma holds the US Youth Soccer National Youth Coaching Certificate, as well as the the US Soccer National “D” License. She also possess the NSCAA Goalkeeping Level 1 and 2 Diplomas.
